getting ready for a challenge

Thomas S., Financial Director in a global company, wanted to improve his presentation skills in particular managing his nervousness in such situations which prevented him from performing as he wanted.  When Thomas approached me, there were only six weeks left before a major international conference where he was asked to hold a lecture. We agreed that we would meet at frequent intervals given the short timeline.

The coaching initially consisted of dissolving the negative blockages. Following by raising awareness of his resources, mental training and appreciations of past achievements, Thomas was able to be more gracious with himself. Through the learning of mental techniques, the conscious handling of his body and the mental anticipation of the next lecture, Thomas gradually became more self-confident.

In the end, Thomas felt perfectly prepared for the conference. Afterwards he told me that this time he was much more successful which was also acknowledged by his audience. For the first time, he even enjoyed the lecture.
